1Sponsor

The Sparta Movers Giveaway (the “Contest“) is run by Sparta Movers Inc., 110-79 Freeport Cres NE, Calgary, AB T3J 2L2 (the “Sponsor“).

The Contest is not sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Atlas Van Lines (Canada), Kananaskis Mountain Lodge, Kananaskis Nordic Spa, the Calgary Flames, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn or Google.

2Contest Period

The Contest starts when it is first announced on the Sponsor’s website and ends on December 31st, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. Mountain Time (the “Contest Period“). The Sponsor’s computer clock is the official timekeeper.

3Who can enter

To enter, you must be a resident of Canada and 18 years of age or older when you make your booking.

Residents of Quebec are not eligible.

The following people cannot enter:

  • employees, officers, directors, agents and contractors of the Sponsor;
  • employees of the Sponsor’s prize suppliers and of its advertising and promotional agencies;
  • the immediate family members (spouse or partner, parents, children and siblings) of anyone listed above, and anyone living in the same household as them.

4How to enter

Book a service with Sparta Movers by December 31st, 2026 (11:59 p.m. MT) to enter.

  • Book any service with the Sponsor during the Contest Period by phone, by email, in person or through the quote form on spartamovers.com. Your booking is entered automatically. You do not need to fill in a separate entry form.
  • Your booking counts only if it is confirmed by the Sponsor and is not cancelled before the draw. A quote request on its own is not an entry.
  • You get one (1) entry per confirmed booking.
  • The entry belongs to the person named on the booking. The Sponsor uses the name, phone number and email address on the booking to contact that person.

5Prizes

There are three (3) prizes. Each winner receives one prize.

#PrizeApproximate maximum value (CAD)
15 nights all-inclusive in Mexico for twoup to $3,000
21 night for two at the Kananaskis Mountain Lodge with dinner and Nordic Spaup to $900
3Flames game tickets for twoup to $500

The total approximate value of all prizes is up to $4,400.

Prize values are approximate maximums. The actual value of a prize may be lower, depending on things like travel dates, the game chosen and the supplier’s pricing at the time of booking. The Sponsor does not pay the difference between the actual value and the stated maximum.

Prize details:

  • Prize dates, times and availability are set by the prize suppliers. They are subject to the suppliers’ terms and conditions, blackout dates and availability.
  • Prize 1 travellers must have valid travel documents, such as a passport.
  • Anything not stated as part of a prize is the winner’s responsibility, for example optional extras, gratuities, travel insurance and personal spending.
  • The Sponsor will give each winner the specific details of their prize when it is awarded.

Prize substitution: if a prize, or part of one, cannot be provided for reasons beyond the Sponsor’s control, the Sponsor may substitute a prize of equal or greater value, or pay the cash value under section 6.

6Cash value option

Instead of taking the prize, a winner may choose to receive its cash value.

  • The cash amount is the actual cost to the Sponsor of providing that prize, up to the stated maximum (for example, up to $3,000 for Prize 1). The Sponsor determines that cost in good faith from supplier quotes at the time the prize is awarded.
  • The winner must tell the Sponsor in writing which option they choose (prize or cash) when they return the release form described in section 9.
  • Cash is paid by cheque or Interac e-Transfer to the winner within 30 days after the Sponsor receives the signed release.
  • Apart from this option, prizes cannot be transferred, exchanged or traded.

7Draw and winner selection

  • On January 8, 2027, in Calgary, Alberta, the Sponsor will hold a random draw of three (3) entries from all eligible entries received during the Contest Period.
  • The first entry drawn will be offered Prize 1, the second Prize 2 and the third Prize 3.
  • A person can win only one prize.

8Odds

The odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received during the Contest Period.

9Contacting and confirming winners

Contact: the Sponsor will try to contact each selected entrant by phone and email, using the details on their booking, within 5 business days after the draw.

Response window: a selected entrant must respond within 7 days of the Sponsor’s first contact attempt.

Skill-testing question: before being declared a winner, each selected entrant must correctly answer a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question, without help of any kind. The question will be given by phone, video call or email at a time arranged with the Sponsor.

Release form: each selected entrant must also sign and return the Sponsor’s declaration and release form within 7 days of receiving it. In the form, the entrant confirms that they:

  • are eligible and have followed these Rules;
  • accept the prize or the cash value;
  • release the Released Parties as described in section 11;
  • agree to the publicity described in section 10.

Alternate draw: a selected entrant is disqualified and forfeits the prize if any of these happens:

  • they do not respond within the response window;
  • they answer the skill-testing question incorrectly;
  • they do not return the signed release form on time;
  • they are found to be ineligible or not to have followed these Rules;
  • they cannot accept the prize as awarded and do not choose the cash value.

In that case, the Sponsor may draw another eligible entry from the remaining entries. The same steps apply to that entrant. The Sponsor will make up to three (3) alternate draws per prize. If a prize still cannot be awarded after that, it will not be awarded.

10Winner announcement and publicity

Confirmed winners will be contacted directly. They will also be announced on the Sponsor’s Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn pages, and may be announced on its website.

By accepting a prize or its cash value, each winner agrees that the Sponsor may use their name, city or town, photograph and a statement about winning in Contest-related announcements and publicity. The Sponsor may do this in any medium without further notice or payment, for up to 12 months after the draw.

11Release and limitation of liability

By entering, each entrant releases and holds harmless the Sponsor, its prize suppliers, and each of their affiliates, directors, officers, employees and agents (the “Released Parties“) from any claims, liability, loss or damage connected with:

  • the Contest;
  • accepting, using or misusing a prize, including any travel or activity related to a prize.

The Released Parties are not responsible for:

  • lost, late, incomplete or incorrect booking or contact information;
  • technical, network, telephone, computer or website problems;
  • printing or typographical errors in any Contest materials.

This section does not limit any liability that cannot be limited by law.

12Privacy

The Sponsor collects personal information through bookings and quote requests, such as your name, phone number, email address and service details. In connection with the Contest, it uses this information to:

  • run the Contest;
  • confirm eligibility;
  • contact selected entrants;
  • award prizes;
  • announce winners as described in section 10.

The Sponsor handles personal information in line with its privacy policy and applicable Canadian privacy law, including the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and, where it applies, Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act. The Sponsor does not sell entrants’ personal information.

Entering the Contest does not sign you up for marketing messages. The Sponsor sends promotional emails or texts only to people who have separately agreed to receive them, and you can unsubscribe at any time.

To ask about, access or correct your personal information, contact the Sponsor at the address in section 1.

13Conditions and disqualification

The Sponsor may disqualify any entry, or any entrant, that it reasonably believes:

  • does not meet these Rules;
  • comes from a booking made only to enter the Contest and then cancelled;
  • uses false information or several identities;
  • involves tampering, fraud or behaviour that is unfair to other entrants.

If the Contest cannot run as planned because of fraud, technical failure, a public health or other emergency, or any other cause beyond the Sponsor’s reasonable control, the Sponsor may:

  • cancel, suspend or change the Contest or these Rules, subject to applicable law;
  • if the Contest is cancelled, award the prizes by random draw from the eligible entries received up to the date of cancellation.

The Sponsor’s decisions on all matters relating to the Contest are final.

If these Rules differ from any Contest advertising (website, banners or social media posts), these Rules govern. If any part of these Rules is found invalid, the rest continues to apply.

14Governing law

These Rules and the Contest are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. The Contest is void where prohibited by law.
